In this episode, we welcome Mathilda Motte, founder of La Maison du Mochi, Japanese pastries made in France.
In 2011, when Mathilda went to live in Japan, she fell in love with these little balls of sweetness known as mochi. When she returned to France after a year, she couldn't find them easily and started making them herself, adding a little French twist. That's when the idea germinated in her mind, and she decided to create La Maison du Mochi.
I met Mathilda in January for this recording. I had never tasted a Mochi before, but Anaïs had assured me it was delicious. As you can imagine, I rushed to the box Mathilda had given us when I got home...
